There are an abundance of activities that are provided for the youth in the local community that help to keep them away from dangerous behaviour. In particular there are three flourishing sports teams: football, basketball and volleyball. On a Sunday afternoon all three teams can be found playing on the parish grounds. Sports here give the youth an opportunity for fun but even more than that offer a chance to unify the community and give them something to really be proud about. The teams will often travel to nearby towns to compete. These days are often viewed with great anticipation and a victory is cause for celebration in the whole community. In addition there is also a Culture Group who practice and perform traditional dances from Zambia. Many visitors to Mazabuka have been delighted by the culture group and they are called upon to perform whenever there is a celebration.
